You can host your own game show with Game Show Presenter software. It's easy. This short tutorial will tell you how.
Step 1: You need Game Show Presenter software, which will provide you with a complete multimedia template for your game show -- music, sound effects, timers, buzzer control, graphics, and scorekeeping. If you don't already have our software, grab the trial version on our download page and install it.
Step 2: Turn off the animated host. That's easy to do. Open the program to the Quiz Editor. If you have the new PLUS edition, just click the game show host icon, then click to turn on Live Host Mode. If you have the Presentation Edition, go to the PREFERENCES menu at the top of the window. Click that menu, drop down the list and select HOST OPTIONS at the bottom. When the control box opens, pick Be Your Own Host. Done! While you are in the Quiz Editor, you may as well create your game show questions, if you haven't already done so. (There's a built-in help file under the HELP menu if you want some coaching.)
How does it work? Your change to the host options has set the game show software so it will now pause in every scene where the animated host used to speak. The show will remain paused in each scene until you (or an assistant who might be running your computer) presses the spacebar key. This simple method let's you speak as long or as little as you need to. That gives you great flexibility for your gameshow introduction, introducing new rounds of play and so on. Of course, our game show host will be taking the day off, but all the other features of the software are functional. So you can have buzzers, timers, game show music, scorekeeping, and all the rest. If you have someone who will play the role of supermodel, you can also leave the animated supermodel out of the show. All the details for the rest of the program are in the HELP file.
